Happy Pennsylvania Derby day!

#MDBred Smarten won the inaugural Pennsylvania Derby in 1979 for owner/breeder Ryehill Farm and trainer Woody Stephens. Smarten won eight stakes races in his 27-race career and later stood at Windfields Farm, where he sired 48 stakes winners!

This grant will be used to support the foundation's existing educational programs, including the Maryland Thoroughbred Career Program, the Work Experience Program, and the Howard & Sondra Bender Educational Series!
