Historian Eliza McGraw takes a different path in her
new book, Astride: Horses, Women, and a Partnership that Shaped America. The author of Here Comes Exterminator weaves together stories of women who pioneered in the worlds of Thoroughbred breeding, the circus, horse rescue, cattle ranching, race riding and more in a time when women were determined to prove they could hold their own in any equine related activity. Richly illustrated with period photographs, Astride demonstrates that even small changes can advance the fight for progress.
