The Maryland Horse Library and Education Center will show the documentary film, Seattle Slew, on Monday, January 27th at 5:00 PM at the Maryland Horse Library, 321 Main St, in Reisterstown.

The 2001 film is part of ESPN’s Sports Century series and features archival footage of the 1977 Triple Crown winner along with interviews, and commentary by the horse’s connections and those who covered his career. Among those telling the story of racing’s “ugly duckling” are Slew‘s trainer Billy Turner, who early in the horse’s career stabled him at Monkton’s Andor Farm. Others appearing are racing writers Joe Kelly, Bill Nack, and Ed Bowen.

Admission is FREE.
