State Jousting Championships

Maryland’s state sport concludes its regular tournament schedule with the State Championship Joust each year on the 1st Saturday in October. Join us to see the best ring jousters in Maryland compete for the State Championship title!

Washington International Horse Show

The historic 66th Washington International Horse Show offers seven days and three nights of superstar horse show jumping, exciting equestrian sport and entertaining exhibitions, and the highlight of the week, the $340,000 Longines FEI Jumping World CupTM Washington CSI5*-W for the President’s Cup. Located at The Show Place Arena, Prince George’s Equestrian Center, 14900 Pennsylvania Ave, Upper Marlboro, MD

All day sessions are Free!

WIHS offers 3 nights of top-level show jumping.

  1. Thursday October 24th Barn Night: 7pm, doors open at 6pm
  2. Friday October 25th Military Night: 7pm, doors open at 6pm
  3. Saturday October 46th World Cup Night: 6:30, doors open at 5:30pm

Five ticket options are offered for each night:

  5. Standard Ticket: The most inexpensive reserved seat ticket per night.
    • Barn Night, Thursday, Oct. 24: $25 adult, $20 child
    • Military Night, Friday, Oct. 25: $25 adult, $20 child
    • World Cup Night, Saturday, Oct 26: $50 adult, $40 child

MDHT Hot Pink XDerby

The Maryland Horse Trial’s exciting XDerby events are held on all-weather footing to allow for competitions all year long! All rings will have cross country obstacles you would find on a typical competition course with show jump obstacles mixed in.  The objective is to establish a rhythm over solid jumps in reliable consistent footing and to exhibit the control needed to successfully go over the show jumps. The course levels include logs/crossrails through Modified. There will be a short schooling session before each division to school over the competition jumps beforehand.  We start with the lower levels and move up throughout the day to allow for those that may want to “move up” a division during the competition.
